Early life

Lynch is well known American comedian, actress and a singer as well. Her mother was a housewife and her father was a banker. She was brought up in an Irish Catholic family^. She studied in Thornridge High School and she received her bachelor’s degree in theatre from Illinois State University. Lynch has also done MFA from Cornell University in theatre.

Career

Lynch started her career with “The Second City” comedy and “The Real Live Brady Bunch”. She wrote the award winning play Oh Sister, My Sister and also starred in it.

In the year 2000 movie Best in Show, Lynch had a memorable role as a lesbian personal dog handler. It was directed by Christopher Guest.

As a TV performer she has made several appearances in numerous TV series, including Judging Amy, The West Wing, 7th Heaven, Friends, Felicity, Arrested Development, Two and a Half Men, Weeds, Boston Legal, The L Word, Criminal Minds, Monk, Psych and others.

She caught the lime lights with her role in Judd Apatow’s “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”. This role was originally intended for a man but it was given to Lync. The list of movies done by her includes names like “Role Models”, “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby”, “Alvin & the Chipmunks”, “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story”, “Space Chimps,” “The Rocker”, “The Hammer”, “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs”, and several others.

She also worked in TV shows like “Julie and Julia” and Criminalo Minds.

Glee TV show

Since 2009 Lynch has been working in Glee and her role in this show is commendable. She was acclaimed for her role as an aggressive cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in the show. She received a Golden Globe nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Series for her role in Glee show. The show has also received three nominations in various categories.

Personal life

Lynch is openly a lesbian and is engaged to be married to her partner Dr. Lara Embry, who has received much publicity surrounding a custody battle over two children with her earlier partner.
